Depositing cash through Self’ Banks:
Self’ Banks are automatic banking terminals that operates everyday from 5:00 a.m to 11:30 p.m. They have single or multiple terminals with a screen, card reader and card dispenser facilities. The Self’ Bank helps you to carry out many banking transactions yourself in an easier and convenient way. They help you to transfer money, manage cards and also to withdraw or deposit cash into an ING account. You can deposit money into your account as well as to other person’s account through these self’ banks.
How to deposit cash at the self’ bank terminals?
Find the nearest Self’ Bank with Cash In / Cash out facility. Select the “Deposit Cash” Option. Select the ING account (current account or savings account) to which you would like to make a deposit. Insert the bank notes into the slot provided and follow the instructions displayed on screen. The max limit is 120 notes at a time. The amount deposited is calculated automatically and will be displayed on screen. Check the total amount calculated and if you agree, press OK. A receipt of the transaction will be dispensed by the machine and save it for future references. You could also STOP your transaction any time before confirming your deposit. “Be Sure not to leave the terminal while an ongoing transaction”.
You could also deposit cash to your credit card using his method. You simply have to go the ATM or terminal and make a selection among the accounts linked to credit cards. This method can be used to deposit cash to your own card or to a card linked to another ING bank account.
Depositing money to an account through ATM
Go to the payment /transfer menuSelect money transfer to account. Select the account from which you want to transfer money. Enter branch code, account number and Sub-no of the recipient. Once the name and surname of the recipient appears on the display screen, enter the amount to be transferred and confirm your transation.
Depositing money to a card through ATM
Go to payments/transfers menuSelect the account from which you have to transfer money. Enter the recipient card numberOnce the name and surname of recipient appear on the screen, enter the amount to be deposited and confirm your transaction.
These methods can be used to deposit cash only to a domestic account.
Electronic Fund transfer (EFT) to ING account
Local currency or foreign currency can be transferred between your accounts or to another individual’s account, IBAN and cash cards. SWIFT, Western union and other wire transfer are a few options facilitated by ING for electronic fund transfer.
SWIFT transfer
SWIFT is an international payment network mainly used for foreign money transfer. For SWIFT transactions from other banks to ING bank you will require SWIFT/BIC code which is different for different regions and also depends on the type of transaction you are performing. It is an eight or 11-digit long code similar to the IFSC codes used for domestic/local interbank transfers You could always check with your recipient or the bank directly to avoid errors.
To transfer money through SWIFT you will require the recipients SWIFT code and an IBAN (international bank account number). The sender could either visit his local bank with the details and then the bank will request the recipients bank to accept the fund transfer. It normally takes 2-5 days for the fund to be reflected in recipient’s account. It may take bit longer depending on the time zone differences of the sender and recipient and also on the number of intermediary banks involved.
SWIFT is considered one of the safest ways for depositing money into an overseas account.
VISA Direct
Visa Direct is an online payment platform that helps you to deposit cash into any visa card linked to a pay account. You would require the recipient’s bank account details, visa card number and validity through date to initiate the transfer. A visa direct payment may take 1-3 days to be credited into the recipient’s account.
Mobile Banking
ING bank also facilitates withdrawal or deposit of cash via mobile apps. One can call up the bank customer support centre if this feature is not enabled in your account. The mobile apps of ING banks are really user friendly and this helps in a quicker and easier cash deposit to another ING account. If the deposit is made from other bank’s accounts, then you should be knowing the IFSC code and other details of the recipient. The amount will be credited to the recipient’s account on the same day of deposit.
Overseas cash deposit
To deposit or receive cash into an ING account overseas, you can use the international card transfer facility available. These transactions can be performed worldwide and in all major currencies. The charges or fee for international transfers will be applicable in this case.
Deposit cash through the bank
Well! If you are someone who is finding it hard to let go off your traditional banking methods, then you could always pay a visit to your nearest branch and make a deposit to the account.
You will just have to fill in the cash deposit slip and hand it over along with the cash / amount to be deposited to the person handling the cash transfers. These transactions will be taking 1-2 days as it depends when the individual responsible for the transaction initiates the transfer. The cash deposit slip countersigned by the bank representative should be kept for future references.
Depositing cash through post offices
ING bank has associations with postal services of several countries. To make a cash deposit you just need to go to the post office that facilitates bank@post services. Fill in the deposit forms and make the cash deposit and the rest will be taken care of.
