Following the announcement of the latest Android update — the first that doesn’t share its name with a dessert — the first eligible devices were the Google Pixel, Google Essential, OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T Pro. For everyone else, updates are projected to come in waves throughout the remainder of the year, and for some phone owners, into the first quarter of 2020… and beyond.

OnePlus 6 & 6T At the time of publication, the OnePlus 6 began receiving updates; however, they were paused to address an issue with the fingerprint scanner. If your device is still missing the latest Android update, expect to get it when this issue is resolved — which should be soon. The Android OS update for OnePlus 6T was released in tandem with the OnePlus 6, and appears to be unaffected by the fingerprint scanner issue. Nokia 7.1, 8.1 and 9 PureView Nokia’s updates will last until the second quarter of 2020. Nokia 8.1 received the update in early September, while the Nokia 7.1 and Nokia 9 PureView will receive the update either this month or next. Nokia 7 Plus, 6.1 Plus & 6 Plus All three of these devices will get the update in Q1 of 2020. Nokia 1 Plus, 5.1 Plus & 8 Sirocco Updates for these devices are expected in the latter half of Q1 2020. Nokia 2.1, 3.1, 5.1, 1 Finally, for the remainder of the Nokia devices, the 2.1, 3.1, 5.1 and 1 are expected to get the upgrade in Q2 2020.

Asus Zenfone 5Z As of early November, updates began rolling out for Asus Zenfone 5Z — breaking their habit of lagging on OS updates. Other updates are slated for ZenPhone 6 and ROG Phone 2. HTC U12 Plus, U11 Plus, U11, and U11 Life HTC is often slow when it comes to updating. Some HTC devices were still waiting to receive Pie updates earlier this year! Don’t hold your breath for any timely HTC updates. LG G8 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, and G7 One LG is slow with its updates as well, so don’t expect this go-around to be different. Some LG devices are still waiting for Pie, so it’s unlikely OS updates for LG G8 ThinQ, V50 ThinQ and G7 One will be available prior to 2020. Samsung Galaxy S10 series Samsung announced the Galaxy S10 series will get the update, but with restrictions. You can join Samsung’s beta program for the update. Honor 10, 8X, 20 Pro, 20, View 20 These Honor devices will be receiving the update, although the actual date remains unconfirmed – somewhere in the late 2019/2020 timeframe has been speculated. Huawei Several Huawei devices will receive the update. Broken down by the expected month, they are:

November 2019: Huawei P30 Pro and P30.December 2019: Huawei Mate 20 Pro, 20, 20 X, 20 X 5G and Porsche Design Huawei Mate 20 RS.March 2020: Huawei P20 Pro, P20, Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10.

Oppo Oppo Reno is expected to receive the Android 10 update, but as of the date of publication, the timing is not known. Realme The update will trickle down through the beginning of 2020 to select Realme devices. Here’s when to expect the updates:

Q1 2020: Realme 3 Pro, 5 Pro, X and XT.Q2 2020: Realme 3, 5 and 3i.Q3 2020: 2 Pro.

Sony Xperia Sony Xperia devices will be receiving the Android 10 update. When remains a question. Based on past models, Sony Xperia 1, 10, XZ3, XZ2, XZ2 Compact and XZ2 Premium will be getting the update within the next several months. Vivo Vivo X27 is in the beta program for the update, but the timelines for other devices are unknown. The other Vivo devices receiving this update will be Vivo Nex S, Nex A, V15, V15 Pro, iQOO and Nex Display. Xiaomi The Mi 9T and Redmi K20 should be updated by October 2020.
