After rolling out colored text status updates to Facebook in March, the social networking giant has now made the same feature available on WhatsApp as well. This means that you can now post text status updates on WhatsApp in any background and text color that you’d like.  You can now also post links as status updates if you wish to. The feature is already being rolled out to Android and iPhone users through an update to the app. Additionally, Facebook has also updated the WhatsApp for web app to make it possible for users to view status updates of their contacts right on their PC. In case you were not aware, you can also hide your status updates from being shown to specific contacts through the privacy settings of the app. Facebook has gotten into a habit of releasing similar features across all its products. After debuting Instagram Stories — a blatant rip-off of Snapchat’s Story feature, the company also added the feature to Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp. Similarly, after debuting colored text status updates on Facebook, the company is now bringing it to WhatsApp.
