What to do when your Luxpro thermostat stops working?
Ready to find out how to fix your Luxpro thermostat if it ever suddenly stops working?, Read this article to the end.
Steps to troubleshoot whenever your Luxpro thermostat stops working:
Step 1: Take a look at the batteries
If your Luxpro thermostat suddenly stops keeping you warm or reducing the heat, the first thing you should do is to check if the thermostat batteries are low. If the machine has been heating or cooling your home or office higher or lower than the temperatures you have set it to, then you might have to change the batteries. While changing the batteries of the thermostat, make sure you keep the old batteries so that you can use them as a referencewhenever you need to get new ones.
Step 2: Take a look at the circuit breaker
If the cause of your Luxpro thermostat’s malfunction is not the batteries, then it might be that your thermostat is no longer receiving power.
This might be because the circuit breaker of the thermostat got damaged due to a ground fault, a short circuit, or any other issue.
If your circuit breaker gets damaged too frequently, you would need to seek the help of a professional as it is a very serious problem.
Step 3: Clean the contacts on top of the subbase
There are two contacts located on top of the subbase of the Luxpro thermostat. If the cause of your thermostat’s malfunctioning is neither the batteries nor the circuit breaker, then it is most likely the contact wires. You can get a pencil eraser, and use it to clean the contact wires on the circuit board.
Step 4: Adjust your heat pump’s dip switches
If the first three steps mentioned above do not make your Luxpro thermostat start working, then you should check the switches at the back of your Luxpro thermostat. Ensure that the first switch is set to “on”, and the second switch is set to “electric”.
After making these changes, you would have to restart the thermostat for them to be effective.
Step 5: Check the wires
Your thermostat’s malfunctioning might be due to faulty wires. To correct this, ensure that all the wires are well connected to their terminals.
Also, old wires can cause the thermostat to stop functioning, so try to make sure that your wires do not get too old before they get replaced.
If you need to replace the wires, I advise that you call an electrician to come and take a look at the wiring. This advice is to prevent you from electrocuting yourself while trying to repair the wires, or damaging your Luxpro thermostat further.
Step 6: Try resetting your thermostat
If the display on your thermostat says “HI” or “LO”, that means that the temperature around is beyond the range of your thermostat. But, if you think that the surrounding temperature is not beyond the range of your thermostat, then you should reset your thermostat.
Step 7: Clean your Luxpro thermostat
If the six steps mentioned above do not stop your Luxpro thermostat’s malfunctioning, then you should consider cleaning it. Dust can cause the thermostat to stop functioning, so it’s best to regularly clean your thermostat.
Step 8: Restart the thermostat
If all the above steps do not make your thermostat start working, then you should simply restart the thermostat.
Step 9: Check your User manual and call customer care
If all the steps above do not make your thermostat begin to function properly, then you should check your user manual and see if there is any problem with it that I have not mentioned. If there is none, then you should probably call customer care and tell them about your Luxpro thermostat’s problems.
